BACOLOD City – Two people died while another was injured after two unidentified gunmen fired at them during a fiesta in Sitio Bonbon, Barangay Inayawan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, police said.

Farmer Uldarico Alipan, 45, and Winnie Villanueva, 44 — both locals — died of multiple gunshot wounds on the body.

Villanueva’s son George, 25, was hit on the stomach and back. He was taken to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here.

All three were sitting on a parked tricycle when attacked around 10:45 p.m. on May 21, the Cauayan police head Chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito said, citing investigation.

Officers reached the village only the next morning. They considered the site where the attack happened an “ambush area.” They found slugs from a .45-caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Pajarito said they have yet to identify and catch the suspects and determine the motive./PN
