BACOLOD City – At least five people were injured when a cargo truck crashed into a garbage truck in Barangay Tangub around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The garbage truck of the IPM Construction and Development Corp., the city government’s contracted garbage collector, was about to make a turn when the Canter cargo truck laden with bananas behind it hit its rear.
Garbage truck driver Samuel Bonghanoy said the cargo truck was way behind them when they were trying to make a turn but was moving fast.
Cargo truck driver Maximo Tia of Guihulngan, Negros Oriental claimed he was on moderate speed, but the garbage truck failed to turn on its signal light.
Four of the injured were taken to the hospital. The other one refused. (With Bombo Radyo Bacolod/PN)
