SIBALOM, Antique – Injuries marred volleyball games on Day 1 of the Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Meet at the covered gym.

But the tournament manager for women’s volleyball considered these a “minimal” problem.

One player from Central Philippine State University and another from Carlos Hilado Memorial State College were hurt during the Dec. 4 games but an on-standby medical team was quick to respond.

Spikers from both men’s and women’s categories sent the regional sports meet abuzz.

Twelve state universities and colleges from Western Visayas donning their identity colors showed off varying techniques before yelling and cheering crowds.

Ang result ka first day is smooth gid katama ang play, kag wara man ti problema nga nag-exist. Kon may ara man, minimal lang,” said Prof. Larry B. Deysolong, tournament manager for women’s volleyball. “So far, ga-cooperate ang mga coaches kag ang staging is successful.”

Volleyball games for men and women will continue until Dec. 8./PN
