SAN JOSE, Antique – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will subject to revalidation 8,859 households affected by super typhoon “Yolanda” in 2013.

They could possibly avail themselves of the P5,000 Presidential Financial Assistance (PFA), according to DSWD focal person on disaster risk reduction Luna Moscoso.

The current number of Yolanda-hit households was based on a previous data submitted by municipal social welfare and development officers (MSWDO).

Those eligible for the PFA are families that are not recipients of DSWD’s Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) and modified shelter or housing grants from the National Housing Authority (NHA).

Moscoso said three validators were hired by DSWD to undertake the checking. The PFA implementation will last for six months.

To be revalidated is the following number of families:

* 2,385 from Caluya

* 361 from Laua-an

* 918 from Libertad

* 764 from Pandan

* 1,383 from Patnongon

* 264 from San Remigio

* 1,052 from Sebaste

* 51 from Barbaza

* 43 from Bugasong

* 186 from Tibiao

* 20 from Valderrama, and

* 1,432 from Culasi.

The DSWD regional office will submit a revalidated list of qualified grantees to its central office at the end of this month so that the PFA can be transferred to the Land Bank of the Philippines for release to the beneficiaries. (PNA)
