MANILA – Adamson University Lady Falcons kept its hot start in the Premier V-League Collegiate Conference with a 25-12, 25-14, 25-13 sweep of Technological Institute of the Philippines Lady Engineers yesterday at the San Juan Arena.

Jessica Galanza led the way with 18 points, on 11 attacks, six service aces and a block, for Lady Falcons, which moved up to solo first place in the Pool B standings with a 3-0 win-loss slate.

Mary Joy Dacoron added 12 markers, including nine attacks, while Chiara May Permentilla and Lee-Ann Perez combined for 14 points for Lady Falcons, which also got 23 excellent sets from Fenela Emnes.

Lady Falcons had a strong start in the opening set for an 8-4 lead behind Galanza and Dacoron. Errors by Lady Engineers followed by attacks from Galanza and Negrense Christine Soyud allowed Lady Falcons to take the set.

Lady Falcons kept the trend in the second set with a huge lead on conversions by Galanza. Lady Engineers tried to keep the match close but errors from them allowed Lady Falcons to build a 2-0 set lead.

In the third set, Adamson had another blazing start with Dacoron and Permentilla connecting on offense for an early double-digit spread. The lead grew further with Galanza nailing aces for a straight-set win.

“We’re slowly getting the consistency that we’ve been looking for,” said Lady Falcons head coach Airess Padda. “For a team like us, it’s a matter of always playing like this and continuing to get better.”

Alyssa Layug and Ashley Jean Jinon finished with 8 and 7 points, respectively, for Lady Engineers, which remained in last place in the group (0-3)./PN
