ILOILO City – While they have taken in more than a thousand surrendering illegal drug personalities, police officers in Antique have yet to catch two high-value antidrug campaign targets.

Senior Superintendent Leo Erwin Agpangan, director of the Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO), claimed these two high-value targets were hiding in San Jose de Buenavista, the capital town, and Hamtic.

Agpangan did not name the high-value targets.

Aside from them, he said, the Antique police are also going after 82 low-value targets.

Agpangan presented yesterday APPO’s five-month (July-November) antidrug campaign accomplishments at the Police Regional Office 6 headquarters in Camp Martin Delgado here.

He said 1,386 self-confessed users and 137 suspected pushers — a total of 1,523 — surrendered to the Antique police in line with the knock-and-appeal stage of Oplan Double Barrel.

Moreover, they have “neutralized” 27 drug suspects, including the “high-value” Bonie Prevendido, a suspected member of the Prevendido drug group, said Agpangan.

Prevendido and eight others were arrested in a buy-bust operation on Nov. 4 in Barangay Camandagan, Tobias Fornier, Antique.

Bonie is a son of Barangay Captain Remia Gregori of Bakhaw, Mandurriao, and a nephew of alleged Prevendido drug group leader Richard.

Caught along Bonie Prevendido were Argie Elman, Crisanto Morada, Aquilino Pedrajas Jr., Aquilino Pedrajas III, Glen Pedrajas, Robert Pedrajas, Johnny Rapado, and Jona Fe Tabio.
Glen Pedrajas, Robert Pedrajas and Aquilino Pedrajas III are Bonie’s cousin. Aquilino Jr. is the father of Robert and Aquilino III.

Other high-value targets the Antique police have “neutralized” were Enecito Escaner, a jail guard at the Antique Provincial Rehabilitation Center, and Robert Magbanua, a village councilman of Caridad, Hamtic.

Police shot and killed them during an operation on Nov. 22 in Bato Norte, San Jose./PN
