ILOILO City – Two armed men robbed a businesswoman in Barangay Lanciola, Sara, Iloilo.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, according to 33-year-old Christine Lagura of Barangay Crespo, Sara, robbers took her P30,000 cash, mobile phone worth P15,000 and watch costing P8,000.

She was on her way home from her grocery store at the Sara public market when the two men blocked the motorcycle she was driving, Lagura told the police.

Lagura was with her 12-year-old daughter, said Chief Inspector Ronnie Brillo, Sara police chief.

The robbers threatened the mother and daughter with a gun but did not harm them.

According to Lagura, the men immediately took her bag where she kept her money and phone.

The robbers had a motorcycle.

According to Brillo, the robbery appeared planned and the culprits apparently knew where Lagura was passing and when.

The Sara police had one suspect but Brillo declined to give a name for now.

The Sara police and Public Safety Company of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office launched a manhunt.

Brillo said their suspect was “our No. 1 most wanted person” because of his string of criminal cases – two counts of robbery and two counts of murder.

The suspect’s group operated in northern Iloilo, Brillo added.

The police chief also linked their suspect to illegal drugs./PN
