Around 33,000 animals vaccinated in Bacolod

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Veterinarian Office has vaccinated a total of 33,241 animals as of May 31 this year as part of its mass vaccination program.

Official records also showed the office served 17,867 walk-in clients, and 17,661 clients under the program.

The following are the number of animals vaccinated and clients served from January to May:

*January – 4,821 animals; 2,568 clients

*February – 7,745 animals; 3,964 clients

*March – 7,481 animals; 4,225 clients

*April – 7,002 animals; 3,805 clients

*May – 5,785 animals; 3,099 clients

For walk-in clients, the total number of animal heads vaccinated was 407 with 206 clients served.

With an estimated total population of 54,000 in 2016, the veterinary office has already vaccinated almost 61.50 percent as of May 31, 2017.

The office has 146 dogs impounded, 122 surrendered, 15 claimed, 100 adopted and 153 euthanized, City Veterinarian Dr. Ma. Agueda Trinidad De La Torre said.

The total number of dogs impounded and surrendered is 268.

De la Torre reminded dogs and pet owners to be responsible in dealing with their animals and to always follow city regulations. (PIA)
