ILOILO City – The Panay Organic Producers Association (POPA) Agriventures, Inc. has invited key resource persons from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to discuss investment prospects and international markets during the 1st Agri-Aqua Investment Forum from Nov. 9-10 at the Diversion 21 Hotel, Mandurriao district.
Themed “Grow Western Visayas: Accelerating Investments for Global Markets,” speakers from Board of Investments (BOI) and Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) graced the event on day two.
BOI officer-in-charge chief Ellorence Cruz discussed the investment prospects and incentives for agri-business projects. Meanwhile, EMB Emerging Products Division senior trade and industry development specialist Senen Briones talked on the potentials of international markets.
The forum aimed to bring together national and international entrepreneurs who are willing to invest in agricultural production in Iloilo and its neighboring provinces, specifically on the following commodities: cacao, coffee, fruits and vegetables, livestock, poultry, swine, farmed seafood, and aromatic or specialty rice.
As partner, DTI Region 6 facilitated the conduct of a product exhibit at the venue during the two-day activity. The exhibit was participated by Rosary Herbal Products, El Jardin, G and G Ornamental Plants Enterprises, Einars Natural Food Export, Sunburst Balay Tablea, ALDI Foods, and Brendan’s – which recorded a total sales of P19, 134.00.
POPA partnered with the DTI, Iloilo Provincial Government, Department of Tourism, National Economic Development Authority, Department of Agriculture and Iloilo Economic Development Foundation for the activity./PN
