MANILA – Meralco Bolts forward Allen Durham may again win the Best Import of the Conference award as he leads the race for the individual citation at the end of the semifinals of the PBA Governors’ Cup.
The 29-year-old Durham is way ahead with 58.875 statistical points (SPs) on 25.44 points, 20.06 rebounds, 6.81 assists, and 1.25 blocks averages.
Following Durham is Phoenix Fuel Masters’ Brandon Brown with 54.500 SPs on league-leading 34.83 points, 17.67 rebounds, 3.67 assists, 2.83 steals, and 3.00 blocks per outing.
Also in the top five are Blackwater Elite’s Henry Walker with 54.100 SPs, GlobalPort Batang Pier’s Murphy Holloway with 53.222 SPs and NLEX Road Warriors Aaron Fuller with 49.500 SPs.
But among the top five, only Durham has a strong chance of claiming the individual award – the teams of the other four imports failed to reach at least the semifinals.
Meanwhile, San Miguel Beermen center June Mar Fajardo is still the leader in the Best Player of the Conference (BPC) race with 38.455 SPs after averaging 18.55 points, 11.64 rebounds, 1.73 assists, and 2.27 blocks.
Despite this huge lead, Fajardo is doubtful to achieve his record sixth BPC award since Beermen was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the season-ending tournament.
In second place is TNT KaTropa guard Jayson Castro, who had 33.563 SPs after tallying averages of 18.19 markers, 4.38 boards, 6.31 dimes, and 1.19 steals.
Rounding out the top five are Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings’ Gregory Slaughter with 32.625 SPs, Bolts’ Chris Newsome with 30.875 SPs and Beermen’s Arwind Santos with 30.583 SPs.
The Governors’ Cup Best Import and Best Player of the conference winners will be announced before Game 3 of the best-of-seven championship series between Kings and Bolts on Oct. 18./PN
