ILOILO City – A 12-year-old boy was found dead in a lagoon of a subdivision in Barangay Inangayan, Santa Barbara, Iloilo.

Florencio Montaño recovered the body of his son Raphy around 10 p.m. on March 23. Both were residents of Barangay Balibagan Este, Santa Barbara.

Raphy went home from school around 4:30 p.m., two classmates told the police, after they declined his invitation to swim at the lagoon.

The boy likely went to the lagoon by his lonesome after reaching home, according to Chief Inspector Rogelio Ortigas, Santa Barbara police chief.

The father took Raphy to the Western Visayas Sanitarium in Santa Barbara after recovering the body. The boy was officially pronounced dead there./PN
