ILOILO – CenterPhil Montessori SilverKnights ruled the 2017 Municipal Meet secondary boys basketball after a 118-57 win over Janiuay National Comprehensive High School in the finals at the Western Visayas State University – Janiuay Campus.

Led by Charles Sindol, Patrick John Gain and Ian Gasacao, the SilverKnights immediately create distance in the opening frame en route to a lopsided victory and to claim its eighth consecutive Municipal Meet title on Thursday.

Aside from its pristine offense, the SilverKnights also relied on their trapping defense from start to finish frustrating the upset-conscious Janiuay National Comprehensive High.

“We are glad that we have won the Municipal Meet again,” said CenterPhil owner Mark Plagata Palabrica. “Our experience and exposure from Iloilo City Invitational Basketball Tournament and Bingawan Foundation Cup also helped us in this tournament.”
The tournament was a tune-up for SilverKnights for the upcoming Iloilo Schools Sports Association Basketball Tournament, the Iloilo 3rd CDSA Meet and the NBTC Elite League.
On their way to the finals, the SilverKnights scored a 162-36 victory over Calvario Memorial Christian School. They also defeated Janiuay National Comprehensive High, 115-37.
Also in the SilverKnights team were Jedrick Sean Tigres, Mark Cleofas, Ronald Silorio, Jason Sugatan, Wilmer Silverio, Lester Valn Paraico, Jan Rei Congreso Narince Balano and Rodney Paparon./PN
