CENTERPHIL Montessori Silver Knights, representing Janiuay, captured the Iloilo 3rd Congressional District Sports Association (CDSA) Meet 2017 basketball crown with a sweep of all its matches in Lambunao, Iloilo.

Silver Knights annexed its seventh consecutive men’s basketball championship after an 82-57 domination over host Lambunao in their gold medal match on Saturday.

Mark Cleofas led the way with 15 points, Charles Daniel Sindol added 14 points, while Ronald Silorio and Jhan Rei Congreso had 13 and 10 points, respectively, for Silver Knights.

Prior to the gold medal game, Silver Knights also scored lopsided wins in their elimination round against Badiangan (100-16) on Thursday and Lambunao (79-51) on Friday.

Not only in indoor basketball, Silver Knights also captured the championship in the 3-on-3 basketball behind Jedrick Sean Tigres, Patrick John Gain, Carl Ian Gasacao, and Lester Valn Paraico.

Silver Knights opened its 3-on-3 campaign with a 21-10 victory over Bingawan before escaping Calinog 17-13. In the championship game, Silver Knights cruised past Pototan 18-8.

“I am glad with our performance in the CDSA Meet,” said CenterPhil owner Mark Plagata Palabrica. “Our experience here can help the players in the long run when we compete in other tournaments.”

The champion teams in the CDSA Meet will represent the 3rd CDSA at the 2017 Iloilo Schools Sports Council Meet from Dec. 5 to 9 at the Iloilo Sports Complex in Iloilo City./PN
