A lot of people believe in luck and associate their lives with charms, hoping that it will bring them good fortune.

Like every other culture, the Chinese people also have their shared beliefs of good and bad luck – often based on feng shui. Feng shui is an integral part of Chinese culture and almost all Chinese use it as a guide in making even the smallest decisions. Businessmen especially display different charms depending on what they want to have or seek to accomplish. And now, feng shui has grown in popularity – with people around the world also employing its charms.

Charms come with unique styles in different shades and sizes. They also carry different meanings. Here are some of the famous feng shui charms and their underlying meanings.

Butterflies

Butterflies are often used as a decoration, but what we don’t know is that it is a feng shui cure for love and romance. It also symbolizes the element of freedom that enables one to choose from among his/her suitors. This symbol is said to be the best for single people seeking love and companionship.

Horses

These stallions bring the energy of success, fame and freedom. The horse in feng shui symbolizes galloping triumph that why they are often used in business establishments and offices.

Mystic Knot

The physical manifestation of the infinity symbol looped around itself six times, the mystic knot symbolizes a happy and long life of good fortune. It also often called an endless knot and is one of the eight magical auspicious objects in Buddhism.

Chi Lin

A mythical Chinese creature that has the head of a dragon, the body of a horse and the scales of a carp fish, the Chi Lin protects its owner’s house from evil spirits and bad omens, boosting a higher status than most other feng shui protectors.

Chinese Coins

The Chinese coin is one of the “Eight Treasures” in Chinese culture and it symbolizes wealth and prosperity. The ancient Chinese coins are round with a square-shaped hole in the middle that reflects the Chinese view of the square as earth and the circle as the heavens.

Dragon

The dragon is also one of the animals in the Chinese Zodiacs. In feng shui, the dragon is said to symbolize benevolence, prosperity, longevity and the renewal of life.
