BACOLOD City – The Bacolod Water Consumers’ Watch, Inc. will hold a meeting on Sept. 7 to discuss the status of the bulk water supply project of the Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa).

Bacolod Bulk Water, Inc. (BBWI) was the project contractor.

Councilor Wilson Gamboa, chairman of the water consumers group, invited Baciwa general manager Juliana Carbon and BBWI chief operating officer Ryan Yapkianwee as resource speakers in the meeting to be held at the session hall of the Bacolod City Government Center.

Representatives from 61 barangays were expected to come, said Gamboa.

“Chairpersons of the committee of environment in barangays, nongovernmental organizations and other stakeholders were invited,” Gamboa added.

The bulk water contract, water supply shortage and concerns regarding water refilling stations will be discussed.

“We will ensure consumer protection and water sufficiency in Bacolod City,” said Gamboa./PN
