BACOLOD City – A motorcycle driver was killed while his back rider was injured when their crashed into a bus in Manapla, Negros Occidental.

John Michael Conol of Barangay Punta Mesa, Manapla was declared dead in the rural health unit. He died of injuries on the head and body, said Chief Inspector Edencio Gregorio, municipal police chief.

Lucibar Vergara, 47, of Barangay Agpangi, Calatrava, was driving the Ceres bus. He was detained in the Manapla police station.

The incident occurred at around 12:10 p.m. on March 21 on corner Lacson-Gustilo streets in Barangay 2-A, Manapla.

 

Conol’s back rider Randy Bonda, also of Barangay Punta Mesa, was injured. He was taken to the rural health unit and later transferred to the Teresita Jalandoni Memorial Provincial Hospital in Silay City./PN
