ILOILO City – A resident of Barangay Oñate de Leon, Mandurriao district with an expired firearm license was arrested.

The 54-year-old Alberto Colon was detained at the Mandurriao police station.

Armed with a court-issued warrant, officers searched his house in Santo Domingo J Village Phase I at around 7:50 p.m. on Saturday, a police report showed.

They seized from Colon a .9mm Browning pistol with magazine and nine live ammunition.

The Firearms and Explosives Office of the Philippine National Police headquarters confirmed that Colon’s license expired on Nov. 17, 2014, the police report stated./PN
