ILOILO City – Sanitary permits and health cards would be required of those operating food vending kiosks during the Dinagyang Festival.

The City Health Office (CHO) will deploy 14 sanitary inspectors to do the checking for three days (from Jan. 26 to 28).

“Their food preparation processes would also be checked. We must avoid food poisoning,” said City Health Officer Dr. Bernardo Caspe.

Food kiosks without sanitary permits or their staff without health cards would be closed, he said.

The CHO issues the sanitary permit and health card.

Those applying for a health card need to present the result of his stool and sputum or chest x-ray tests and pay P50 at the City Treasurer’s Office.
Food kiosks are allowed to operate on Iznart Street from Arroyo Fountain to Plazoleta Gay, Valeria Street, Delgado Street, and Solis Street. (Merianne Grace Ereñeta, Iloilo City PIO/PN)
