ILOILO City – A high-value drug suspect was arrested in Barangay Inzo-Arnaldo, Roxas City.

Rex Billones, 38, of Barangay Libas, Roxas City was detained at the city’s police station following a buy-bust operation around 10:30 p.m. on May 25.

An undercover police officer bought from Billones a sachet of shabu for P1,000, said Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, Capiz police director.

He described Billones as a “level 2” high-value drug suspect.

The police coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for surveillance and the sting operation.

“He was too elusive. We have been targeting him since last year,” said Nacion.

The police director linked the suspect to the Aguirre drug group operating in Roxas City and nearby Capiz towns.

“Billones was a runner and subgroup leader of the Aguirre group,” said Nacion.

He reportedly got his shabu from Manila, he added.

Billones faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (illegal drug possession and peddling)./PN
