HUA SIONG College of Iloilo made a quick work of CenterPhil Montessori Silver Knights and won 110-81 at the close of the 14th Mayor’s Cup Basketball Tournament in Dumarao, Capiz.

Mark Nonoy led the way with 26 points while Reynold Tupas added 23 markers for Hua Siong, which tied Hercor College Junior Jaguars on top of the standings with a 4-1 win-loss record.

But Hua Siong occupied the top seed heading into the semifinals after beating Junior Jaguars during their lone elimination round encounter.

Patrick John Gain top-scored with 17 points while Charles Sindol added 12 markers for Silver Knights, which barely made it to the Final Four despite its 2-3 record after the Sunday game at the Dumarao covered gym.

Hua Siong and Silver Knights will face each other again in the knockout semifinals on July 29. The other semifinals game is between Junior Jaguars and Santa Clarita International High School Primes.

Meanwhile, Iloilo Mission Hospital scored 85-73 against Lennard Car Center during an exhibition match.

Edu Allado led the way with 18 points while Rollin Ardonia added 12 markers for Iloilo Mission Hospital, which took home P10,000 cash.

Boyet Lastimoso had 19 points while Mating Montalvo chipped in 12 markers for Lennard Car Center, which had P5,000 for the losing effort./PN
