ILOILO City – The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has removed the height requirement in the recruitment of new police officers.
“That is good. What is important for a police officer is his or her IQ (intelligence quotient), dedication to work and willingness to fight,” said Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).
Previously, Napolcom had a height requirement for aspiring police officers – at least 5 feet and four inches for males; 5 feet and 2 inches for females.
Napolcom announced Friday last week that the only requirements for an applicant in the Philippine National Police were these:
* must be a Filipino citizen
* with a Bachelor’s Degree
* must not be more than 30 years old
The commission also announced the opening of the “Online Examination Application Scheduling System” or OLEASS in the Napolcom websites for the nationwide PNP Entrance and Promotional Examinations.
Online applications would be accepted from Jan. 29 to Feb. 2, 2018 for the PNP Entrance Exam; Feb. 5 to 9, 2018 for the Police Officer (PO) exam; and Feb. 12 to 16, 2018 for the Senior Police Officer, Inspector and Superintendent exams. (PNA/PN)
