BACOLOD City – The municipality of Isabela, Negros Occidental has a new police chief.

Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil, officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), assigned Chief Inspector Ruben Pajarito to lead the municipal police station.

Earlier this month, Isabela mayor Joselito Malabor wrote Nocppo and the Police Regional Office 18 requesting for a new municipal police chief and more police officers.

Malabor assumed the mayorship to replace Enrique Montilla III, who died of cardiac arrest on April 18.

Pajarito, formerly the police chief of Cauayan, replaced Inspector Edfel Balibadlan, who was assigned at Nocppo.

Castil said he cannot assign additional police officers in Isabela for now pending the graduation of newly recruited cadets.
Isabela comprises 30 barangays but has only 25 police officers, Malabor said.

Malabor said the additional police officers can help intensify the local government’s campaign against illegal drugs and other crimes./PN
