BACOLOD City – Playing hide-and-seek got a 19-year-old electrocuted at the quadrangle of Negros Occidental High School (NOHS) on Araneta Street.

Juanito Pelareja III of Barangay Locuton, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental was taken to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital after the incident on May 20.

Dr. Herdeh Serna pronounced him dead around 2:13 a.m.

At the time the NOHS was hosting a Boy Scout leadership training camp, Police Station 1 records showed.

It was around 1:20 a.m. when Pelareja and an unidentified batch mate played hide-and-seek.

Pelareja tried to hide at the roof of the gym but accidentally got hold of a live wire, police said.

He fell from the roof when his batch mate tried to save him by kicking his hand.

Police Station 1 was still investigating the incident for possible foul play.
