ILOILO City – While trying to get away from police officers out to arrest him, a drunken man fell off the motorcycle he was driving.

Macario Dequiña, 58, of Barangay Cabuguana, Carles, Iloilo was confined in the district hospital in Sara. He sustained injuries on the head and body.

Dequiña poked a tanod (watchman) in Barangay Tubli, San Dionisio town with a firearm around 9:20 p.m. on Friday, a police report showed.

When responding officers were about to disarm him, Dequiña ran and boarded his motorcycle and drove away, but he fell off the vehicle when he reached Barangay Bagacay, San Dionisio, police said.

A homemade .357-caliber revolver loaded with four bullets was seized from him.

Dequiña was facing charges for illegal possession of firearm and grave threat./PN
