BACOLOD City – A pre-wedding party did not turn out as expected in PurokBagongSilang, Barangay Bato, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

Sagay City police head Chief Inspector Robert Mansueto said a man identified as the 55-year-old resident DaniloAbayon was found dead in the village around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Abayon sustained two stab wounds on the body, police said. He was found near Gina Gonzaga’s house where the party was held.

After the 25-year-old resident Jessie Perolino – Abayon’s nephew – found about what happened to his uncle, he went hysterical, according to the police.

This led Perolino, armed with a bolo, to go berserk at the people in the party.

That was when the 40-year-old resident Mary Jane Almirante shot Perolino using a .375-caliber firearm, police said.

Perolino sustained a gunshot wound on the stomach and was rushed to the Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Sagay City.

Perolino was later transferred to the Corazon LocsinMontelibano Regional Hospital in Bacolod City where he was currently under treatment.

Almirante, on the other hand, was arrested and detained at Sagay City police station lockup facility./PN
