ILOILO City – An American man was killed in a vehicular crash in Barangay Igtuba, Miag-ao, Iloilo around 9:50 a.m. yesterday.
Mateo Movillon, a 54-year-old citizen of Texas, United States residing in Barangay Baybay Sur, Miag-ao, sustained severe head and body injuries, a police report showed.
He was taken to a clinic in Miag-ao but the attending physician, Dr. Glen Dale Fantonalgo, declared him “dead on arrival.”
Driving a Kawasaki BR200A motorcycle (plate number 060107-17-7905), Movillon was bound for Barangay Igtuba proper at the time.
He was making a left turn when a public utility jeepney (plate number FVW-865) crashed against his motorcycle, the police report stated. The impact threw the American off his vehicle.
The jeepney driver, 38-year-old Rommel Nagrit of Barangay San Francisco, Anini-y, Antique, surrendered to the Miag-ao police. He was detained at the municipal police station./PN
