ILOILO City â In Barangay Nanga, Pototan, Iloilo, a passenger motorcycle driver was arrested for allegedly selling illegal drugs.
The 39-year-old resident Reynante Calucab yielded two sachets of suspected shabu.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6 operatives caught him at around 8:30 a.m. yesterday.
Calucab denied involvement in the illegal drug trade. He accused the PDEA operatives of âplantingâ evidence.
He was detained at the PDEA Region 6 custodial facility in Iloilo City.
PDEA regional director Wardley Getalla claimed the suspect was known in the village as a motorcycle-riding drug peddler.
The items seized from Calucab had an estimated street value of P2,500.
Calucab was facing a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA was still trying to find out as of press time where he was getting his drug supply./PN
