ILOILO City – On Sen. Benigno Aquino Jr. Avenue (Diversion Road), Mandurriao district, a motorcycle crashed against a public utility jeepney (PUJ) at around 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday.
The motorcycle driver – 21-year-old John Oliver Serisola of Barangay Bolong Este, Santa Barbara, Iloilo – was hurt, a police report showed.
Police investigation showed the motorcycle was running on the right side of the Leganes-Iloilo City PUJ in an attempt to overtake when the latter vehicle swerved to the right, causing the collision.
The PUJ driver – 21-year-old Jaymark Tubongbanua, also of Santa Barbara – failed to notice the motorcycle, police said.
Serisola lost control of the motorcycle, which hit one of the short steel barricades along the bicycle lane.
Wounded on the knees and complaining of pain on the hips, he was taken to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao./PN
