ILOILO City – A motorcycle collided into a passenger tricycle in Barangay Rumbang, Pototan, Iloilo at around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The tricycle driver, Corado Delos Reyes of Barangay Cahaguichican, Pototan, died, a police report showed.

Nine others were injured – tricycle passengers Emmanuela Flores, 23; Reynalyn Segubia, 13; Joselyn Soropia, 52; Nelia Dela Peña, 73; Jaira Roquina, 13; and Mary Ann Sendico, 50; and motorcycle driver Romnick Parreño and passengers Mary Ann Lavalle, 33, and Janice Pajermo, 35.

The tricycle was negotiating the national road from Barangay Poblacion to Barangay Cahaguikican when the counter-flowing motorcycle crashed against it in front of a school, the police report showed.

 width=All tricycle riders were residents of Cahaguichican while the motorcycle riders were from Rumbang.

All the injured were rushed to the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Rumbang.

Delos Reyes was pronounced “dead on arrival.”

Some of the victims and their respective wounded body parts, according to the police, were as follows: Flores, head; Segubia, right face and arm; Roquina, left elbow; Sendico, back of the head; Parreño, left arm and right and left legs; Lavalle and Pajermo, left leg.

Soropia complained of pain on the cheek and back while Dela Peña said she was hurt on the chest, police said./PN
