BORACAY – A Salaam police officer has no objection with the extension of martial law in Mindanao.

“There is nothing wrong with the extension,” Mahid Bani, team leader of the Boracay Salaam police, said.
Martial law is giving security to the Mindanaoans, he added.

However, he said the military and the police must not “step on the rights of the civilians.”
Bani hopes the crisis in Marawi City ends soon.

“I still have some relatives there (in Marawi). We hope that peace will be restored in our city and the rest of Mindanao,” the police officer said.

He also said the government must “fast-track” the rehabilitation of Marawi once the crisis is over. (PNA)
