ILOILO City – This year’s National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week will focus on the realization of the fundamental rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs).

In Western Visayas, the regional committee on disability affairs will spearhead the weeklong celebration from July 17 to 23 with a series of activities to be held in Iloilo City and in the province of Aklan.

The activities slated in Iloilo City are Abilympics on July 17 at SM City Iloilo; Health Fair on July 20 at Punta Villa Resort and Convention Center; and Reassessment on the 2016 Accessibility Audit on July 21.

Two activities will be held in the province of Aklan including the tourism accessibility audit from July 26 to 27 and forum on the rights of PWDs from July 28 to 29.

Memorandum Circular No. 2017 – 69 mandates all local government units to support the celebration by conducting fitting activities.
