Spencer Umah dominated two categories and was recognized as the overall champion in the 4th Mr. Dinagyang 2018 Physique and Bodybuilding Competition in Iloilo City.

NIGERIAN Spencer Umah was declared the overall champion in the 4th Mr. Dinagyang 2018 Physique and Bodybuilding Competition in Iloilo City.

Umah, a student of the University of San Agustin, claimed the overall title after dominating the Novice and Physique categories.

He defeated the likes of Jesus Arsenio and Robert Espira in the Novice category, and Arsenio and Benito Seville in the Physique category.

Robert Cuambot, meanwhile, was declared champion in the Open category, beating Espira and Seville, while Espira ruled the Master category over Cuambot and Carlos Gabion.

Thirty-eight bodybuilders participated in the competition that ended with the awarding ceremony on Jan. 14.

First, second and third placers in the Novice and Open categories took home P7,000, P4,000 and P2,000 cash, respectively, while the top three finishers in the Physique and Master categories had P5,000, P3,000, and P2,000, respectively.

“This competition was organized to make the Ilonggos aware and be advocates of the significance and influence of wellness in bringing positive impact to people’s lives,” said Moises Salomon of the Iloilo City Sports Development Division.

Iloilo City mayor Jose Espinosa III and organizer Housefit Gym Center were planning to hold another edition of the competition in next year’s Dinagyang Festival, Salomon disclosed./PN
