BACOLOD City – There is a P0.3322 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) decrease in the November power bill, according to the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco).

From last month’s P11.028 per kWh, the rate has been reduced to P10.6958 per kWh, said Ceneco general manager Sulpicio Lagarde.

Lagarde explained that the downward rate adjustment was due to the decrease of the transmission charge by P0.0053 per kWh and the deferment of the P0.222 per kWh recovery charge for the Generation Rate Adjustment Mechanism and the Incremental Currency Exchange Rate Adjustment by Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management.

Despite the rate decrease, Ceneco continued to remind its member-consumers the importance of power conservation.

Lagarde added that this is also for member-consumers to avoid paying high electric bills.

Moreover, Ceneco started supplying power to 38 households in Sitio Anangue, Barangay Buenavista, Murcia, Negros Occidental on Nov. 14 as part of its Sitio Electrification Program.

Ceneco District 7 director Dwight Carbon, Ceneco District 7 area manager Hernani Veniegas Jr., Ceneco District 7 area engineer Joeme Talde, and the Ceneco field office staff facilitated the program.

Barangay Buenavista village chief Isidoro Rodrigazo and Sitio Anangue Purok president Robert Bergania coordinated with them to carry out the program.

The Sitio Electrification Program is Ceneco’s response to the National Electrification Administration’s call to provide electricity in all parts of the country, Lagarde said./PN
