ILOILO City – Accepting the national challenge of Philippine National Police’s Director General Ronald Dela Rosa on “Oplan Kill Bilbil: Slim Possible”, a new scientific fitness training program for the police force in Region 6 was recently launched.

The Functional Fitness Training Program is a holistic approach to fitness. It combines physical conditioning, yoga, mixed martial arts, calisthenics, gymnastics, and plyometric workout to achieve desired body condition.

It aims to develop competent, motivated, values-oriented and disciplined policemen by providing a more scientific training routine that will help them achieve their physical fitness goal as well as boost their self-esteem, thus, raising the bar of their performance at work.

According to Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, regional police director, the program will have the most comprehensive approach to fitness, thus, equipping the police personnel in Region 6 with the most modern and functional mental and physical strength and alertness.

The program is a collaborative effort of the Police Regional Office 6, the Regional Advisory Council for Police Transformation and Development, JCI Iloilo IlangIlang, Inc. and Storm Fitness Club.

The recent launching was marked with the signing of a memorandum of agreement between Binag, Socioeconomic regional director Ro-Ann Bacal who is the vice president of the Regional Advisory Council for Police Transformation and Development, Haycia Kamil Agudo Olivar (president of JCI Iloilo IlangIlang, Inc.), and Marlon Val Jucaban, head coach of Storm Fitness Club. (PRO-6/PN)
