BACOLOD City – Government antidrug agents seized more than half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu in an operation on Lopez Jaena Street, Barangay 31.

The buy-bust operation at around 2:30 p.m. yesterday led to the arrest of the 30-year-old resident Nasser Mariga, a spot report from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6 stated.

Mariga also yielded two automatic rifles with ammunition, said the PDEA.

The suspect sold to PDEA operatives a “heat-sealed” sachet of suspected shabu before the latter seized a “knot-tied” plastic pack of the same substance from him, the agency said in the spot report.

All seized suspected shabu weighed more or less 125 grams with an estimated value of P525,000, said the agency.

Charges for violation of sections 5 (sale) and 11 (possession) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act will be filed against Mariga, the PDEA said./PN
