FIVE Ilonggos were hailed winners of the 2017 Passi City Mr. Wellness Bodybuilding Competition at the Passi Central School covered gym in the component city of Passi in Iloilo province.

The top five were chosen from among 12 participants.

Carlito Espedion Jr. was declared champion, followed by Angelou Fuentebella, Ryan Dalipe, Christian Rey Marin, and Joseph Dogomeo.

The five were chosen by the three judges invited during the event.

Espedion took home the top prize of P5,000.

Fuentebell and Dalipe – second and third placers – had P3,000 and P2,000, respectively, and Marin and Dogomeo (fourth and fifth placers), P500 each.

The Nov. 30 competition was organized by the city government’s Sports and Development Section and City Tourism Office as part of the Wellness and Tourism Month celebration, said Randy Palomaria, sports development officer.

“We made this competition to make the Passinhons aware and advocates of the significance and influence of wellness in bringing positive impact to people’s lives,” Palomaria said.

With its success this year, Mayor Jesry Palmares is planning to hold the bodybuilding competition every year, Palomaria added./PN
