ILOILO City – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Iloilo is open to suggestions for the improvement of the new Iloilo Ferry Terminal’s operation.

According to Lieutenant Commander Ramil Palabrica of PCG-Iloilo, the provincial government of Guimaras also distributed around 2,000 survey forms at the start of the dry run on April 5.

A total of 1,792 respondents said it found the ferry terminal’s operation okay while 239 said it wasn’t.

Among the suggestions offered were to improve the ticketing system, provision of a priority lane for senior citizens, television monitor and free wifi.

Palabrica said they will consider all suggestions.

Following the two-day dry run last week, the Iloilo Ferry Terminal located at Parola in the City Proper is now fully operational.

“Stakeholders extended their appreciation and gave suggestions such as putting up ramp to the pump boats,” said City Administrator Hernando Galvez.

They also wanted tires so that when a pump boat docks, it won’t hit the cemented area, added Galvez.

Others suggested a canopy toward the docketed pump boats, and for ferry terminal porters to wear uniform and identification card s for security measures.

Ferry terminal developer DoubleDragon Properties also promised to dredge some stones at the docking area.

Galvez said hand carry baggage must pass through the scanner located at the entrance of passengers’ lounge. (Iloilo City PIO/PN)
