ILOILO City – To bring its services closer to the public, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Regional Office VI inaugurated another Philhealth Express located in Robinsons Place Jaro Lingkod Pinoy Center on Oct. 18.
The newly-inaugurated PhilHealth Express is the second in Iloilo City. The first one is located in Robinsons Place Iloilo.
PhilHealth Regional Vice President Lourdes Diocson noted that PhilHealth Express has made many contributions in serving their clients.
She added that 80 percent of their clientele is being catered to by Robinsons Pinoy Center.
“It will be a big contribution to the members’ welfare in the city and the region. We hope that there will be more PhilHealth Expresses to open,” Diocson said.
Meanwhile, OIC-GVP Members Management Group Mae Dizon said that it is also PhilHealth’s way of achieving universal health care, noting that accessibility is an important aspect of the program.
Dizon recalled that PhilHealth’s partnership with Robinsons malls started in 2012. Currently, there are already 65 PhilHealth Express branches located in different areas in the country providing basic frontline services such as enrolment and updating of members’ records.
For her part, Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) Regional Operations Manager Maria Concepcion Syching emphasized the mall’s thrust of bringing all government services in one venue.
“Bringing the services closer to the people is Robinsons mall’s main goal as an ultimate shopping destination for the Ilonggo community,” she said.
On behalf of Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, his brother Jay Victor Mabilog extended his welcome to Philhealth Express in the mall as it was more convenient and accessible.
He also commended PhilHealth for bringing its healthcare programs closer to the people.
“We want to ensure every citizen receive the proper health services. Our common vision needs energetic and productive people. The city government is very supportive to programs that will promote healthy citizenry,” he noted./PN
