BACOLOD City – Traffic enforcers received 400 pieces of poncho-designed raincoats from a Singapore-based ride-hailing service company.

Grab Bacolod Office manager Jocelyn Y. Yoshida led the turnover of the garments to the city government.

Traffic enforcers are always on roads and intersections, helping ensure vehicular traffic flows smoothly all the time, Yoshida said.

It is only appropriate to provide them raincoats now that the wet season is here, she said.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Executive Assistant Celestino Guara, Bacolod Traffic Authority Office head Luisito Acebuche, and traffic enforcers received the raincoats at the Bacolod New Government Center lobby.

Grab country manager Brian Cu once came to this city and saw many traffic enforcers manning the streets despite the rain. He thought they should be protected from the cold, Yoshida said.

Leonardia thanked Grab for the timely donation.

“We are getting this at a time we need it most. We would like to thank Grab, through Yoshida, for this kind gesture,” he said./PN
