BACOLOD City – A son of a suspected drug lord in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental was arrested in a police operation.

The 30-year-old Jelo “Doydoy” Ramos is a “high-value” target, according to Superintendent Roberto Lingbawan, head of the Regional Special Operation Task Group 18 that caught the suspect on Wednesday.

Police said Ramos sold suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P500.

Ten plastic packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia were seized from him.

Jelo and brother Jessie Boy are sons of Jessie Ramos, a former member of the defunct Philippine Constabulary whom the police tagged as an alleged drug lord in southern Negros Island Region.

In July last year in Metro Manila, Jessie Ramos turned himself in to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) director general Isidro Lapeña in the presence of Chief Superintendent Conrado Capa, then Negros Island Region police director.

Ramos had no pending criminal record.

Police accused him of supplying prohibited drugs in the 5th and 6th districts in Negros Occidental and this capital city with some other police officers and PDEA agents, and even politicians./PN
