ILOILO City – A computer technician was detained after stabbing another man with a screwdriver in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao.
Jiovil Marfil Mangalisan, 29, of Barangay Mabolo-Delgado claimed he was just defending himself.
When he left Josephine resto-bar after having a drink, Mangalisan told the police, two other customers followed him.
A police report identified one of the two as 18-year-old Lenter Don Arancillo.
Arancillo tried to punch Mangalisan, prompting the latter to stab the former on the right arm, the police report showed.
Arancillo and his companion fled. When barangay tanods (watchmen) arrested Mangalisan and brought him to their outpost, Arancillo went back for his attacker and punched him twice on the head, police said.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. on June 28.
Mangalisan was detained at the Mandurriao police station./PN
