ILOILO City – A barangay tanod (watchman) was arrested in Barangay Jelicuon Montinola, Cabatuan, Iloilo on Friday.

Allan Bravo, 51, sold shabu to an undercover police officer for P500. He was also carrying an unlicensed firearm.

He yielded 10 plastic packs of shabu, drug paraphernalia and a homemade 12-gauge shotgun after his arrest at around 6:45 a.m., said Chief Inspector Engelbert Banquillo, municipal police chief.

Bravo is “a new drug personality,” said Banquillo. “He started selling illegal drugs last month. His two friends were arrested (also for drug offenses) last year.”

Regie Cuarte was caught in February 2016. A month later, Marty Alvi was arrested, too. Both were detained in the Iloilo District Jail.

“I believe he (Bravo) is also using illegal drugs,” Banquillo said.

Bravo was detained at Cabatuan police station, facing charges for illegal drug sale and illegal possession of firearm./PN
