BACOLOD Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts hopes to keep hauling wins as it competes in the Rebisco Girls Volleyball Season 15 National League of Champions from Nov. 20 to 27 at the Sta. Rosa Coliseum in Laguna.

Jose Montalbo, Tay Tung’s vice chairman for sports, was optimistic Thunderbolts will perform well after playing in various tournaments in Visayas.

The Tay Tung team bagged championships in the Iloilo Under-14 tournament, the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association girls’ volleyball and the Batang Pinoy Visayas leg.

“With the experiences we gained from various tournaments in Visayas, I am sure our players will be able to keep in step with tougher teams in the competition,” Montalbo told Panay News.

The competing team comprises Marianne Sotomil, Rhean Alemendralejo, Hannah Quanico, Marixi Maligmat, Shane Carmona, Beatrice Decena, Jeanny Padilla, Joan Monares, Kiesha Bedonia, Joan Doguna, Nohlin Jundana, and Alyssa Bertolano.

Tay Tung earned the right to represent Western Visayas in the national league after beating Central Philippine University Golden Lions in the qualifying leg in July in Iloilo City.

Also participating in the weeklong event were:

* Nazareth School of National University, Hope Christian High School and Far Eastern University-Diliman from National Capital Region

* De La Salle Lipa, Holy Rosary College and Holy Family Academy from Luzon

* University of San Jose-Recoletos and Leyte National High School from Visayas

* Angelicum Learning Center, Koronadal National Comprehensive High School and University of Mindanao-Tagum from Mindanao./PN
