ILOILO City – Prevention of traffic accident is better than cure, stressed Mayor Jose Espinosa III.

The city government recently received P80,000 worth of donated traffic signs.

These would promote road safety, said Espinosa.

Espinosa and F&E Enterprises Inc. president Atty. Eduardo Aguillon signed a memorandum of agreement for the donation of 10 two-faced reflectorized directional signs.

“We express gratitude to F&E Enterprises, Inc. These traffic signs will remind those who are driving to slow down, pause, stop, and observe proper traffic signals,” said Espinosa.

The donation was also in support to the Speed Limit Ordinance.

The Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO) will be in-charge of identifying the areas where the traffic signs would be installed.

PSTMO is overseeing four city government bodies – Transportation Management and Traffic Regulation Office, Police Auxiliaries, Special Services Unit, and Task Force on Anti-Squatting and Illegal Structures. (Merianne Grace J. Ereñeta, Iloilo City PIO)/PN
