MANILA – Filipina volleyball star Alyssa Valdez struggled anew in her second outing for 3BB Nakornnont in the Thailand Volleyball League on Monday night at the Chonburi Municipality Sport Stadium in Chonburi, Thailand.

The former Ateneo Lady Eagles stalwart finished the match with three points in 3BB Nakornnont’s 25-16, 25-21, 25-21 straight-set defeat at the hands of the Supreme Chonburi team.

Unlike in her debut, the Batangas-native Valdez came off-the-bench in the opening frame and was utilized for the rest of the contest, but it was evident that the Filipina volley belle has yet to adjust to her new Thai team.

The 23-year-old Valdez, a three-time UAAP and Shakey’s V-League MVP awardee, got her three points from two signature drop shots from the backrow and another one via service ace.

In her first match, Valdez, who became the first Filipina to play in the prestigious Thai league, managed to score a point with her limited minutes in 3BB Nakornnont’s 25-19, 25-19, 25-20 loss to powerhouse Bangkok Glass.

With the defeat, 3BB Nakornnont slid down to a 5-5 win-loss record, while the Supreme Chonburi maintained its perfect 11-0 record. Valdez’s team’s next match will be against Rangsit University on Sunday.

Among Valdez’s teammates in the 3BB Nakornnont team are former Bureau of Customs Transformers imports Som Kuthaisong and Nic Jaisaen and Thailand national team members Tichaya Boonlert and Kokram Pimpichaya./PN
