MANILA – The case of suspended Western Visayas Sanitarium (WVS) administrator and head of the Hospital Operation Patient Support Services Conrado Sorongon Jr. must be resolved at the soonest possible time, said Health undersecretary Herminigildo Valle.

The case is currently being reviewed, Valle told Panay News but he stressed the need for a “quick resolution.”

Health secretary Francisco Duque III would make the final decision, he added.

Valle did not give a timetable, noting that Duque was newly appointed to the post and would certainly make a thoroughly study of Sorongon’s case.

“Mr. Sorongon contends there was only one suspension order which he had served already,” said Valle.

During a recent visit to Iloilo City, Valle said, “Hindi pa clear sa akin talaga kung dalawa ba ‘yung suspension n’ya o isa lang.”

Services at WVS located in Santa Barbara, Iloilo must remain unhampered despite the conflict among ranking officials of the health facility, stressed Valle.

“Ang pinaka-importante na issue talaga, I’d like to point out, is ‘yung services natin hindi nadi-disrupt,” he stressed.

“While we are settling this issue, tuloy-tuloy ang mga services natin. Mga sahod ng employees nagiging hostage. I don’t like it at all,” said Valle./PN
