ILOILO City – A 46-year-old woman thwarted an attempt by two people riding in tandem in a motorcycle to rob her.

But Adelfa Launio of Barangay Hipodromo, City Proper sustained wounds on the right forearm, left side of the abdomen and right feet as a result.

Launio told Police Station 1 she was walking on Jalandoni Street around 5 a.m. on May 18 when the back rider forcibly pulled her sling bag.

Because she tightly held on to her bag, Launio got dragged by the speeding motorcycle on the concrete road, she said.

The suspects eventually let her go and fled toward the University of San Agustin.

Police were still trying to identify and arrest the suspects as of this writing.

Iloilo City Emergency Responders personnel treated Launio’s wounds./PN
