ILOILO Science and Technology University women players boosted their campaign in the 2017 Iloilo Basketball League (IBL) after defeating West Visayas State University 53-48 at the Iloilo Sports Complex covered court.

ISAT-U managed to score crucial hits in the final minutes of the tightly contested match to score over the heavily favored WVSU.

In the 10 and Under, Ateneo de Iloilo waxed hot early to score 32-19 against PAREF-Westbridge, while Jalandoni National High School pulled away from the tough first half to dominate over Ateneo de Iloilo 64-55 in the 14 and Under.

Other teams in the month-long tournament are New Lucena, Barotac Nuevo, Barotac Nuevo Comprehensive National High School, St. Paul University Iloilo, Central Philippine University, Colegio de las Hijas de Jesus, Assumption Iloilo, Mandurriao National High School, Iloilo State College of Fisheries, and University of Iloilo.

The basketball league is facilitated by Ilonggo sportsman Alfie Lagman. It features five categories: 17 and Under, 14 and Under, 12 and Under, 10 and Under, and women’s.
