BACOLOD City – A collision involving two trucks, two motorcycles and a tricycle on Crossing Bagong Dalan, Barangay Cabahug, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental left one person dead and two others injured.
The vehicular accident happened around 3:58 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police identified the fatality as 31-year-old Arlo Galleron of the city’s Barangay Luna.
Those injured were Roger Decanay, 30, of Bacolod City, and Joseph Coniendo, 53, of Sagay City.
The cargo truck driven by 42-year-old Arturo Pateno and Coniendo’s dump truck were both heading north on the highway when Pateno accidentally hit Coniendo’s truck, said Police Lieutenant Gina Fernandez, Cadiz City deputy police chief.
Coniendo lost control of his vehicle and overshot the southbound lane. He then hit Galleron and Decanay’s motorcycles before coming to a stop.
Pateno’s cargo truck, meanwhile, continued for another few meters, hitting a parked tricycle.
Coniendo, Galleron and Decanay were rushed to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic, but Galleron was declared “dead on arrival”./PN
