
ILOILO City – Two laborers from Arevalo district were arrested for allegedly stabbing a fellow card game player.
Rey Pancho, 25, and Jay Pancho, 27 – both of Barangay Yulo Drive, Arevalo – were detained at the custodial facility of the district police station, a police report showed.
Responding patrol officers took the victim – 48-year-old Eugene Rupert Villaruel of the same village – to a hospital for the treatment of his multiple stab wounds.
The three had a “misunderstanding” while playing poker at around 11:30 p.m. on April 2, the police report stated.
In another story, a 28-year-old man will have to shell out thousands of pesos to spare himself from detention.
Kenny Agriam Peñaflorida was charged with violation of the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act of 2004, another police report showed.
Police in Pototan, Iloilo and officers from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Special Operations Group served him a warrant of arrest at around 11:45 a.m. on April 3 in Barangay Tumcon, Pototan.
A P24,000 bail bond has been set by the court for the temporary liberty of the resident of Barangay Tumcon Ilaud, Pototan.
